Just to add to Purp's blurb, if you tie braid straight to a lure, the braid can get caught in the split rings and tangle on the trebles and often times impossible to undo.

Knot Behd Ducky! I do a variant of that, takes around 2 mins to tie and is all i use. Even on Roach pubes (3lb). I don't believe there's a stronger knot and there's definitely no slimmer knot. The key with what I've found is speed and depth, and its sloooooow and getting lure close to bottom, Ie I would troll in my yak a sebile koolie minnow that dives to around 3 m and fish 3-3.5 m depth.
