Will have to make sure I have one in the tackle box next trip there....hopefully at some stage this weekend.
Hit the lake with the good old pink Tassie Devil and then head down to the creek and try my luck.

Re: Hi From Melbourne
Sounds like my usual luck, throwing the same lure into the same water and the guy next to me catching fish and me getting zero.
But we presist on and one day we will be the ones catching something

Re: Any good spots around Melbourne to catch Redfin
Lilydale lake is my other haunt - managed a nice Brown trout a couple fo weeks ago on a Tassie Devil.
Are you refering to the creek below the dam wall?
I've eyed that off alot of times but never tried it, bait or lures work best there?

Re: Any good spots around Melbourne to catch Redfin
Hi FC - been fishing Rowville for a year or so now and never managed a Redfin. Others have told me they are there.
Trout and Roach we have managed - any tips on getting a Red Fin there?
One of my Daughters really wants her first Red Fin.

Yarra River - Yarra Glen to Warrandyte?
Has anyone been fishing the Yarra between Yarra Glen and Warrandyte of late?
Just wondering if it is worth the trip to throw some lures.

Re: Kid friendly landbased spots, any suggestion?

Head inland and get away from the salty air - much easier to find quiet locations around a lake or beside a river......

Great article - pity they didn't go into some detail on Trout information.
