End of the pier at Mordialloc can be productive, there's also a deeper patch out the right. South or Southwesterly tend to be the better winds with Pinky's a chance this time of the year. i bought the coolest little tool kit from super cheap auto, has all the basics + add some of my own bits and pieces (spare bungs, electrical tape, zip ties, etc..)

i found the palomar knot to be a great beginners knot for braid, used it for quite a while when i first started using braid, going from mainline to swivel & didn't have any problems.. i'd still use the uni knot over the palomar for mono though..

Salmon is the main catch there, with some mullet to the left.. I tried to put a description of location in the other thread.. Thanks for the reply and I will look at the other thread. What rig do you have to catch salmon. What size hook and sinker is best in this location. Paternoster, Size 3 or 4 ...
