i bought the coolest little tool kit from super cheap auto, has all the basics + add some of my own bits and pieces (spare bungs, electrical tape, zip ties, etc..)

i found the palomar knot to be a great beginners knot for braid, used it for quite a while when i first started using braid, going from mainline to swivel & didn't have any problems.. i'd still use the uni knot over the palomar for mono though..

Still a little early for good sized pinkies, give them a try in a month or two..
