Re: Docklands 14/06/21
With the metal blades, you can buy the really cheap ones online, they all work. Just drop it down next to a pylon, let it sink to the bottom, then wait about 5 seconds and slowly lift up your rod. You'll feel the lure vibrating. Let the lure drop back down to the bottom, wait another 5-10 seconds an...

Re: Docklands 14/06/21
The docks bream usually fire up a few days after heavy rain. They will hang around the bottom this time of the year, used to do really well on them with metal vibes teabagging the pylons after dark. My best sessions have been when the water is like coffee

Re: Which spot in Barwon Heads can i go for Crabbing?
Thank you everyone for your comments and recommendations! This has been helpful so far. Got some follow up questions about crabbing: 1. Is it better to go extra early in the morning or at night? --> Low vs High Tides? 2. For Barwon heads - where is this main pier? I tried googling but it keeps lead...

Not Barwon heads but Inverloch is good for sand crabs and is about half the distance of lakes entrance. Also pretty much anywhere off the surf beaches to the east but harder to do with a crab net.

Re: Bream soft plastics
Alternative to cranka crabs are metal blade vibes, at around $1-$2 each or even cheaper in bulk. Brand doesn't matter, just buy the cheapest ones off eBay. Downside is they only really work if the bream are feeding off the bottom, but you can still tempt fish next to pylons to swim down. If that fal...

Re: St lennys pier squid, makerel, trevaly, pike, whiting and Flathead.
Cheers guys, yeah the makerels on and off but I've noticed alot of fisho using green LED lights to attract them. This method attracts alot of small bait fish towards your area thus bringing in the makerels but I discourage this method. Reason been is that I bag out when no green lights around but s...

Nice haul! The yakkas have been going off lately. Did you get them on bait or plastics?

Re: More of yarra bream and learning curve
Metal blades work really well in Docklands, and so do small sinking hard bodies like the strike pro micro vibes. Maybe give them a go. Otherwise when the Yarra is flowing too much you can walk over to Docklands, I've caught more in the docks than the Yarra.
