just got back from brighton went for a squid fish but was blowing hard as 30 knots plus. had two casts, plenty of weed and packed up. a guy had just hooked a squid 15 minutes before i got there. i asked him if the jig had weed on it and he said yes.thought you couldnt get squid if jig had weed on it...

try fishing the reefs around north road brighton. try going on a calm day and look for the sand patches in btewwen reef and broken ground. i know of some old pros that bag out regularly there. just keep moving till you find them.

you have to go to flinders ,portsea, queencliff or point lonsdale if you want the big ones.
