@pistol,
Great stuff - well, I guess a lot of stuff is a bit more amusing when a bit of time has passed!
It almost sounds like you should take up a less hazardous hobby!
Cheers,
Mike.

Q: Spinfisher V owners - best 'all-round' size?
Hi Fellas, Simple question: Which Penn Spinfisher V would be the best 'all-rounder' size? I know that there's really no such thing as an all-round reel for any use, but which would be able to cover most bases? I'm thinking of the 4500, 5500 or 6500, as I think the 3500 would be too small and the 7, ...

Re: Do I really need a 15 or 16ft surf-rod and long-cast reel?
Lots of good advice here guys - thanks for that... Doesn't make my decision any easier though :-) I fish Woolamai a lot and when the sea is a bit rough it's sometime hard to get far enough out to reach the gutters that are still relatively calm (hence, should hold more fish). I do appreciate that th...

Do I really need a 15 or 16ft surf-rod and long-cast reel?
Hi guys, I'm starting to get back into land-based fishing and will be spending more time surf and rocks fishing. I have a couple a 12ft surf rods, but have an itch for a longer rod (don't we all?). However, is there any benefit to be gained from the extra 3 or 4ft? The Okuma X-factor 16ft graphite r...

Oh, also a reminder for any fishos who venture there: please take your crap home with you as I'm getting a bit tired of cleaning up after you. Find many slurpee cups down there? I've bagged-up and carted out just about everything. About the only thing I haven't come across is a used dinga... Mike.

Re: LB King
I'm a 'local' and have fished that area for 25 years and only caught 1 kingie in all that time. Just because you know the location doesn't mean you'll get the fish. Oh, also a reminder for any fishos who venture there: please take your crap home with you as I'm getting a bit tired of cleaning up aft...

Re: What on earth is the anti reverse switch for?
Yep, they're largely irrelevant these days, plus they're just an extra spot for salt-water to get inside the reel.
I removed it from my Sienna 2500 and plugged the hole with some epoxy putty,
Mike.
