Re: Squid fishing down phillip island
If I'm you, I'm fishing either ventnor or cleeland bight (dependant on wind/tide) with a sand whiting on a squid prong under a float. That'll be your most productive way of getting squid. The jetties are overpopulated and pretty overfished imo. This would be my vote to. And use a surf rod over a sq...

Re: What's your fishing snack/food?
I have few oyster patches around my happy hunting grounds and have chowed down on these lovelies before. I tend to take them home more these days than eat them on the water
Hard to beat a feed of Westernport oysters

I normally have a large 7/11 coffee on my way to the water and that’s it. I don’t tend to snack on the water and in fact don’t think about food while fishing But ...

Re: Daiwa Beefstick Z vs UglyStik Gold II
Might have another look at waders, I've started yak fishing twelve years ago and still debating waders vs. wetsuit bottoms + neoprene socks + crocks. Ok something to think about with waders. I over the years have used wet suit and waders both need a fly zip on a kayak so you can take a pee. This is...

Re: Daiwa Beefstick Z vs UglyStik Gold II
Winter clothing for the yak would be my option. But then I tend to kayak fish all year round. There are still plenty of good days on the water through the cooler months if you can stay warm strangely enough my clothing isn’t much different summer to winter about the only difference is a good spray j...
