Re: Brown trout stocking ideology
Not sure if there are academic studies already done, but surely there would have been few articles about it in the past decades. I think if its enclosed lakes, the trout stocking probably won't make as much 'damage', as compared to rivers and streams where they can breed. They like cold clear mount...

Re: Brown trout stocking ideology
There's a few galaxias species that are very endangered due to trout. I don't know if trout are stocked in those particular catchments or if it's a self sustaining population but they definitely harm smaller native fish. Ive heard my grandfather tell me he used to have a mate who caught scores of b...

Re: Brown trout stocking ideology
I’m not fussed regarding the trout stocking. However I’m glad fisheries have finally pulled their heads out of their collective arses by stocking cod “outside of their native range” They’ve stocked trout for decades but wouldn't stock a native where they weren’t originally found. Made no sense. My ...

Brown trout stocking ideology
G'day all. Im currently writing a report for uni on Brown trout and the management plans in place for them. Its got me thinking a bit as along with rainbow trout they are one of few if not the only introduced species that are stocked in waterways. There is also little research about the effects they...

Re: Cod on Surface Frogs
Its a killer video that one - Robbie Alexander is using the damiki air frogs atm in his videos. Haven't tried them myself - i do like the surface lures where its a brainless straight retrieve with a little stopping and speed adjustment only. Feel like the frog needs much more attention and work, bu...

Re: Cod on Surface Frogs
They would've fished remote places for that video. When I went to Tackleworld and to buy a frog lure (didn't end up buying), the guy said the hook up rate is terrible. Yes they're almost snag proof being the hook is pointing up above water, but also means hard to get a hookup unless the cod is supe...

Cod on Surface Frogs
Hi All, Recently watched a youtube Video about Cod on Frogs by Granite Gorrilaz and it got me really interested about trying surface frogs out. So far for the season I've had 3 sessions using them as much as possible. I love how durable they are especially working them around the holes of willows in...
