Re: Marlo / Bemm in winter land base

Land based at bemm river is hard but not impossible, best after dark at the ramp. You will mostly get bream, with the odd luderick and EPs. Lakes entrance fishes better landbased during winter in my opinion, you have all the rivers (Tambo, Nicholson, etc) and local jetties around metung full of brea...

Re: balcombe creek

Theres some big ones in there. Try bait if you've never fished for bream before. Theres a small jetty/platform close to parking there but you really want to move up to the more hidden spots

Mornington's been pretty quiet lately. As in not many people fishing off the pier. Squid still around.

Re: Cuttlefish

Grilled goes pretty well. The meat is a little bit more tender than cala but similar flavour. Salt pepper and lime then onto the grill or oven, aim for a bit of char.

You can also run 2 skewers through the body to keep it from curling up when it cooks

Re: An afternoon of Docklands Snapper

All between Central pier opposite Etihad stadium, around to the NAB building, to the Docklands library, even down to the end of north wharf down Collins st. Don't know about harbour town but don't see why they wouldn't be there too

Re: Portable fish finders

Im going to build one like what cobby said. Looking to spend around $200 but could go up to $300.

What's a good 12v 7ah battery for fish finders? And do i need to buy a charger for the battery?
