Re: Where to catch whiting landbased in ppb

Anthony’s nose is a well known local(to you) LB spot where you can fish next to your car. Only worth fishing at night and on the high tide as it’s pretty shallow most other times. Need to get there early when they’re biting or you will struggle to get a spot. How far do you have to cast? I only hav...

Re: What would you do if you won LOTTO

Won 2 div in sat nite lotto around 6/7 years ago for 8.6k. Was 1 number off a clean mill!! Some of my gambling friends told me that was my one and only chance at striking a mill! Guess they couldn’t have been more wrong, haha! For those you who are unaware of my backstory, I hit the crown jackpot fe...

Re: Quick little report for Waratah bay

Most spearos will use a pranger(multi-pronged tip) if specifically targeting whiting and gars. Never taken a kgw on spear but have heard from good account you want to approach from above in deep water or dive down and throw up sand in shallow water to get them to come close. Berley would most likely...

Nice redemption Bowl!

Did you get a new phone?
59 $ Coles special mobile.
I do own a GoPro 8, just need to bring it on boat.

Am guessing you recently completed a short course in photography. Your pic clarity has improved out of sight! :tu:

Re: Security guards and fishing

Reminds me of the elitist flogs at Blairgowrie pier who put up signage that there is no fishing on the LHS due to a marine park. Not sure if the sign is still there but have had numerous encounters with them over the years. Think you handled the situation well, given the circumstances. I would have ...

Re: Flounder on fire!

When I used to fish Kerfed rd pier, I would hear stories from old Italians and Greeks how they would spot light flounder from port melb to st kilda. Have seen spotlighters in the shallows on breathless nights but never tried the area myself. My PB flounder came from mordialloc and was tad under 40cm...

Re: Looking at a new combo - Whiting and Squid

Never used a zodiac but own various Ci4+ reels and the distance spin. Used to run a 2500 Ci4+ On a distance spin for few years but changed to a 3000 Ci4+ on a nitro custom egi rod. The extra length on the rod and low profile guides will aid in casting distance with bigger jigs. It also has much bett...
