Torquay Saturday
Epic Torquay weather Saturday, early launch with a mate and his missus, trolled like our lives depended on it down past the artificial reef almost to Barwon Heads, then back to Bells for zip…., resorted to bait fishing at the artificial reef for near zip, headed back to Jan Juc, in 10m, and finally ...

Re: what's the weirdest thing you have found or seen while fishing?
St Elmo’s fire on a windy night in PPB. Climbed up the line from the sinker and onto the rod, then onto your fingers, odd tingly sensation with it. Freaky blue shimmering colour. Didn’t stay out long after that…

Spring gummy
Took my daughter’s boyfriend out for a fish off torquay today. Trolled some bibbed lures along the 40m line after seeing birds working, but was simply huge numbers of dolphins smashing bait. Saw large schools of fish on the sounder, stopped and sent down baits. First couple of fish were gurnards, th...

Perth has gummies too!
Over in Perth for my brother-in-law’s birthday, picked the eyes out of the weather and headed out from ocean reef harbour this morning in his 4.8 quinnie. Didn’t have to go far, drifted for a short while for mixed return of sand whiting, tarwhine, silver trevally, and one snapper…, at 41 cm perfect ...

Torquay Sunday 10th April
Early start, launching at fishos in ideal conditions. Motored out to the 40m line and trolled bibbed and skirted lures for 45minutes, lost interest and drifted for generally rubbish fish - Sgt Baker, lots of ugly spiky gurnard, and 1 redeeming economy size tiger flatty. Got sick of gurnards and head...

Clifton Springs Saturday
Got to the ramp 8’ish with my mate and his son, had obviously been busy early, but at 8 we were the only ones launching, which made for a luxurious start. Zipped out to our spot on the far side of the mussel farms, and straight onto kgw’s. Caught a yakka, and baited fillets on a bigger outfit for a ...

Re: Shallow Inlet Landbased
If you’re up for a hike walk in along the car access track and head down towards the entrance. You can easily pump bass yabbies, best local bait, but you will see the obvious accessible spots that are well overfished. A generous hike will produce very fishy looking shoreline in several areas. Cheers...

Re: The sea was angry…
Lots of boats out, did look like most knew what they were doing. Bit frustrating not being able to access a dedicated park for car/trailer, on both launch and retrieve. Normally park and clean the fish at the fishos facilities, but couldn’t find a spot, had to clean them at home. Luckily the green b...

D7D89D06-E941-4AD1-8081-67686453EDA2.png Another jaunt off Torquay, solo outing, with much needed launch assistance from my mate Daz. Quite a rough morning in contrast to the forecast, decent swell and all the boat trailer parks full, half with only cars… Had to park close to the main street on a v...
