My first go to jighead for pier fishing is 1/8 2/0. Or 1/8 1/0 if I use slimmer profile plastics like zman slim swimz or gull turtleback worm. Always sad to hear such news.
Some people go out there without being careful, not checking the weather etc. Almost every year that we hear someone died while kayaking. It's just sad.
