Re: FACEBOOK is killing good forums
FB is more for bragging, talking crap and simply wasting your life... A proper phpBB forum, such as this, is far, far better - as admin says; try finding a specific post that was made a few months ago on FB, can't be done... I used to have an anonymous (made-up name, etc) FB account up until a coupl...

Re: Fisheries stocking Blue Rock - Caught in the act
I have to say I agree. Trout somehow seem immune to the label "feral", where in truth they're no better than carp or redfin - although they probably go better on the plate than carp! How about concentrating of native AUSTRALIAN species instead of introduced vermin? Mike. I dont see why they have to ...

Re: New resident of Victoria
Ha Ha! I was about to say this, but didn't want to sound too negative! :-) I feel sorry (in fishing-terms) when I see these Queenslanders, NSWers and SAers relocating to Vic... But I guess you can always go back if the lack of action gets too much! :-) Cheers, Mike. P.S. Welcome to Victoria! "No fis...

Re: Cape Woolamai 2/3
One of those bloody 'couta took my one of my 1oz, 5/0 TT jigheads with a ZMan 7" SP on it - snicked clean through the line - I could've cried! @DougieK, if you're ever down at Cleeland Bight one day you're welcome to take my A.I. for a test-spin. They're great boats. Did the run from Cleeland Bight ...

Re: Tenby Point 4/3
Looks like it was perfect conditions - calm, overcast with a bit of a front coming through.
Pity the fish didn't think so. Great looking spot though...

Re: Cape Woolamai 2/3
Ha Ha! I get it... :-) It was a great day to be out there. I reckon my lures were all too big - about 14-16cm... Next time I'll make sure I have a bait-jig at hand and just chuck that into the middle of them. Did you get the flatties under the salmon? Cheers, Mike. Just realised I used "yakkers/yakk...

Re: Cape Woolamai 2/3
Might as well add my $0.02 worth to the thread - hyere's my report for the day... :-) ----- The weather forecast finally came good, with light winds and minimal swell predicted, so arranged to meet up with 4litres and head out from the Cape... Any early start - I think this is the earliest I've been...

Re: Hawaiian slings / hand Spear / Spear gun Flounder hunting.
Yeah, this one had me confused too... I've used a Hawaiian sling-type spear to spear flounder, flatties, crabs, etc for a while and was only aware that it might be against regulations when I read the fisheries guide a while ago. Personally I think the regs should be changed to allow barber/5-prong s...
