One Armed Bandits

One Armed Bandits, Bass Yabbies, Pink Nippers; call them what you will, they're a cracking bait. I stumbled on some sand flats today that had a very healthy population of good sized ones on hand. Almost every pump produced one or two and it took no more than fifteen minutes to get more than enough f...

Re: McLoughlins Beach

Pettmans Beach has been fishing well for salmon this last week. The only obstacle to catching them was the howling winds which made casting virtually impossible. A little further east has some massive shoals of salmon working between Point Ricardo and Cape Conran. To find them, just look for the gan...

Re: COVID & fush stocks

Fished at Marlo today, not too cold but bloody windy.

It seems that no-one has told the fish that lockdown is over for now. They're still in iso. Not even a touch today.

Re: Back in lockdown again.

If we added vaccine to the beer we'd have most of the country vaccinated by this weekend.

Re: Sunday Arvo In The Surf

It's crazy isn't it. No one around at all except for a bloke with a dog.

A few days ago there were plenty of chunky salmon to be had. Sunday was just small stuff.

We normally like to brag about the big fish we get but that tiny little flattie made my day!

Sunday Arvo In The Surf

Sunday arvo here in East Gippy was a perfect day to be on the surf beaches. The beach of choice was Point Ricardo. Beautiful sunny weather and a rising tide peaking at dusk with plenty of good gutters. I spent the arvo with a light spin outfit flicking out small slugs and there were plenty of takers...

Re: Docklands 14/06/21

The docks bream usually fire up a few days after heavy rain. They will hang around the bottom this time of the year, used to do really well on them with metal vibes teabagging the pylons after dark. My best sessions have been when the water is like coffee This post contains a wealth of information ...

Re: Pinkies offshore

A nice bag! I met a couple of Orbost fishos late this afternoon who were cleaning a similar bag of pinkies and morwong down at the cleaning table at Marlo. They had been out from Lakes today but had come back to Marlo to clean them. You may have seen them out there, a big white Extreme 6.95 hard top...
