Nice one mate! I was out at st leonards that morning too! Full moon was tough and water was a little choppy! Please post if you go out again and land a gumbo! We LOVE Gummy sharks! (Flake anyone???)
Plenty of gumbos of Leonard’s December is my best month 20m of water

Leonard’s report

Fished st leaonards indented head area yesterday morning for some squid for bait collection ended up bagging out. Was tough going lots of little moves getting a few here and there. Then went to a few marks out wide for gumbos and didn’t even get a run. Full moon made it tough but amazing conditions ...

2 of us picked up 6 to 41 hood size and lost about 4,using white jigs.
They came on early then shut down about 0800.
Got there at 10:30 ish planned on getting there earlier but didn’t happen always next time

I've never fished that side of the bay. Do you have to go far for squid off the ramp there?
The squid grounds start 300m from st Leonard’s ramp and go all the way to swan bay and towards indented head

Headed of st Leonard’s today in search of big squid got plenty before leaving to search for bigger ones tried Lonsdale bite for nothing then point Nepean for nothing then going back at Leonard’s for a couple more but decent size with one at 40cm hood and a few around 1kg. Fished st Leonard’s this arvo very slow fishing took 3 hours to get my 10 squid fished for ting once tide started did a few drops and didn’t get a bite. A bloke coming in as I was launching fished all morning for not one
