Re: Bloody rain

It hasn't been to bad yet, just light but constant where I am. Looks like the north of the state is getting most of it.

Just reading some of the Facebook comments and people are going on about it being caused by cloud seeding. Is this a real thing, surely not?

Re: Safe Passage

I was always under the impression mussel farms as well as other fisheries reserves were off limits to public and are clearly marked to identify these areas.

If you follow the rules like most people do they are not a hazard as they are clearly marked and identified.

Re: Safe Passage

I haven't been out from the new safe harbour at Point Richards since it opened a few weeks back but apart from the sand bar on the right hand side when heading out its a pretty safe run up to the Prince George Marker and beyond. I have done that trip many times no real hazards I can think of.

Re: Wingan inlet

I remember going there about 15 years ago, it's great for camping and we fished from the bank for salmon and flathead.

It's a pretty small system not really sure it's suitable for boats but small tinies and kayaks would be fine.

There has to be a hidden agenda somewhere, if it was a legitimate handout they would deposit it in your account like they did with the stimulus packages in the past or credit your bill. Your details that you enter need to be going somewhere?

Re: Heading down the GOR

+1 for not having the right gear for beach / rock fishing. Also as you are only just starting out it wouldn't be wise to rock fish as it can be dangerous for people inexperienced. There are also new life jackets laws for certain rock fishing sites so be sure to check them out before you go. The stre...

Re: anyone getting salmon?

Went down to Moggs Creek yesterday afternoon and walked towards Eastern view casting metal slugs up and back for donuts... Would of walked about 500mm up as I was almost near the GOR sign and turned back. Spent about 3 hours all up and didn't get one strike. They must not be around at the moment any...

Re: What's your fishing snack/food?

I have a 1lt Thermos which I always take with me full of black coffee. If I am fishing early in the morning I make overnight oats and take that with me and have at my usual breakfast time otherwise if fishing during the day a small sandwich and muesli bar will be enough. I also always have a water b...

Re: anyone getting salmon?

I have had a crack at both Breamlea and Point Lonsdale back beach for donuts both times in the last two weeks. Saturday I was near Torquay for work and when I finished went down to JanJuc for a look, I had no fishing gear so just walked and there were a few bait fishos that hadn't caught anything ei...
