Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Got one carp and three ' micro's ' today, for a lazy Sunday afternoon of fishing. Was getting enough bites to keep me interested for a couple of hours. Good way to spend the day. :water: +4 2018/19 Season: 13 (1656) Carp Facts Carp are as least widely spread around the world as brown trout. I can th...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Not TNA. This place has all the hallmarks of a TNA-like fishery - the carp are there - but I haven't unlocked it's secrets yet...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Haven't had much luck down at the creek these past couple of days, so tried somewhere else. No biggies by any stretch of the imagination, but it's always good to get back on the board after a bit if a dry spell...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Headed down to the creek in coolish conditions. The creek had cleared up since last time I was there, so I knew I was in with a chance. I could see them swimming around, so it's just a case of putting the bait out there and waiting. Didn't get a bite straight away, but didn't have to wait long befor...

Re: Rod or reel?

I would rather a 'good' reel with a 'poor' rod, rather than other way around, especially for bigger fish that may pull some drag. There's nothing worse that a poorly engineered reel that jams, has a jerky drag and bird nests every time!

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Well, I went down to the creek today to try and replicate yesterday's effort. More bait, more time, more fish right? Nope. Didn't even get a look in. Same spot, fish were still there, but not really interested in my bait. I moved around a bit and tried a few spots - got a couple of touches - but was...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Got home early from work and was a bit tired…but not so tired that I couldn’t do a spot of fishing. It was a pretty good day, and the pressure was 1022 which is a pretty good sign apparently. So I hoped on my bike and rode to my ‘new’ spot. I was disappointed to find that the water was quite dirty f...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Glad you enjoyed the read! I must admit, occasionally I go through this thread and I am immediately transported back down memory lane. The early days down at the creek and the long, hot summers spent at TNA. My first 70cm carp. 100+ hauls. Good times. I've moved about a bit since I started this thre...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

It was a rip-snorter of a day, so I decided to head down to the creek for a fish. Things didn’t get off to a good start. A father/son combination was fishing in my spot. I started catastrophising immediately; “I won’t catch anything now” I said to myself. I also wondered if they had seen me fishing ...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

2018/19 Season Kicks Off! A bit like yesterday’s Grand Final between traditional AFL rivals, I was hoping for the best but expecting the worst when I headed out for my first fish of the season. A few weeks ago I rode my bike to work along the creek and noticed a large school of Carp (they’re pretty...
