Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

I've been having a torrid time down at the creek of late. Yesterday was a case in point. I actually managed to tempt two carp to take my bait! But thats about all they did. The first one snagged itself on a log and the second went absolutely nuts, wish I had a GoPro or some other recording device. T...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

After feeling particularly lazy today and watching at least 2 movies on the couch, I forced myself to go outside and get some fresh air (in my defence, it was threatening to rain all day and a chance of thunderstorms - and I was tired). And what better way to get some fresh air to go fishing. I went...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Headed down to the creek tonight in very pleasant conditions. I thought this was going to be like all my other trips down to the creek recently - fishless! And it nearly was, until my float started bobbing around. Not even enough to submerge it, but on the end of it was a nice carp to the tune of 40...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

That looks a little like Cherry Lake, no?

I went there last week(end) in desperation just to catch something...but was not successful.

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Headed out today in very pleasant conditions. Got 9 all up - 2 small ones and 7 'micro's'. All taken on bread. +9 2017/18: 87 (1586) :water: The Art of Reading Water The ability to read water with fish in it is something that comes with experience and a knowledge of the habits and the peculiarities ...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

I generally roll it into a ball and put the hook straight through it - seems to stay on better that way. I also have (and use) a home-made bread punch which squishes the bread into a small disc, and again I put the hook straight through. It fluffs up perfectly in the water after a minute or two.

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Headed out today in warmish conditions and ended up with 4, some caught on corn and some caught on bread. It was very quiet during the day - I was about to pack up and leave just before they came on the bite! (When it sun was falling and it had cooled down a bit). Missed a few bites, and could have ...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Back in the urban jungle...it's all fun and games. Haven't had much luck down at the creek for the past week...until today. I got 5 small commons of about 30cm each on corn and one very fugly mirror taken on bread. Despite the fact that it was about to drop its guts, it gave a really good fight and ...
