Used them years ago, and if my memory serves me well that sounds about right Dazz. The skin was ok, but the flesh was soft. I only ever used them whole with a pair of 6/0’s through them, and they seemed to hold together ok in WP current.

A large wheelie bin chopped in half, or one of those 200l blue plastic drums cut in half, may do the trick. That’s what I use nowadays anyways. Otherwise, BCF used to sell collapsible ones, (they prob still do), but they weren’t great. Std muffs don’t tend to give a donk a proper flushing imo.
