Re: Fish unstoppable

Based on only using small outfits, they could be anything. 10-15 times though tends to steer me away from thinking it could be a jew. If there were headshakes, it wasn't a ray or banjo. There's a chance they were snapper, maybe big salmon or tailor. Who knows, it's all speculation. The only way you'...

Re: Garfish fishing

I see them come up to the boat quite a lot. I have a hand line permanently rigged for Gars in case they do show up, but so far i havent had any success in getting them to bite. They just come up and check out the bait but never take it. I am using a light float with a split shot, a tiny hook and us...

Re: Making 50kg+ of burley

Hi Daryl Not sure about the volume you are talking about , , , , 50+ kilos , , , , BUT I use a hand cranked meat mincer to make my berley. IMG_20190418_164215aa.png I use a (special purchased) large holed mincing/cutting plate. The small holed one just makes puree slop, where as the large holed one...

Re: Sea Anchors

Another idea is to take a couple of buckets out with you with a short length of rope attached to each. Hang one off the bow and one off the stern. An easy and cheap way to help slow down your drift ;)

Re: Lake dartmouth trout.

1-3kg or 2-4kg outfits are fine mate.
Winged lures such as tassies, stingers, cobras, work far too well to dismiss. Bibbed minnows are also good to have in the spread. Rapalas such as F7-F13, or XR6-XR10. Or daiwa double-clutch. And a troll speed of 3-3.5km/hr should do the trick. Good luck!

Re: Best bait for Mulloway

All my rigs are customised. A rig is simply a means of presenting a bait in a certain situation.
