Re: First rod and reel setup - all rounder (budget friendly)

BCF, Anaconca or a tackle store should have what you need.. 6' 6" or & 7 ' rod should do.. KMart also has cheap Jarvis Walker combo set ups.. You should be able to pick up something nice if you prepared to spend $150-00 & it will last longer than the cheaper KMart outfit.. depends on how often you i...

Re: Your best looking catch.

This was my best ever looking wild brown trout taken in a river, caught & released this 8 lb 8 oz brown on the last day of the trout season. Two days earlier I caught a 5 lb 4 oz wild brown trout in the same river.. I probably have a few rainbow trout that are just as good in looks too.. cheers Adri...

Re: Stevenson river 10/2/2019

Wow!! that's early for the rainbow to be so full of eggs too, unless it had something to do with seasonal weather conditions.. I've heard from a few fisho's who keep there trout & they've often said the browns have had full egg sacks in them in March when they've gutted them.. Makes one wonder doesn...

Re: Stevenson river 10/2/2019

Top report & a lovely looking river/stream, nice couple of trout there as well.. Can't beat the river "bows & browns for colour.. Warmer weather now than Spring time see the trout seem to go for the fly more than a lure this time of year. January/early February is when I struggle chasing trout on t...

Re: Took a dive & drowned another camera..

Try putting the camera in a bowl of uncooked rice for a few days the rice will draw the water out. Can’t guarantee it will work but has worked on mobile phones in the past. It's gone with the rubbish a couple of weeks ago, actually had a bloke in the camera shop check it out only to find the main w...

Re: Took a dive & drowned another camera..

Great report and pics as always mate. Sorry to hear about the camera! Thanks LX, I always seem to learn the hard way as this is the third camera I've drowned.. Lucky though as one of them that's been dunked a couple of times is now my spare backup Canon SX150IS camera and it still works perfectly.....

Re: Took a dive & drowned another camera..

Aww bugger, that camera did a good job though, nice photos there. Usually I put electronic stuff in a ziplock bag, a cheap way to waterproof them. I have a waterproof bag for the camera, but to slack to use it half the time.. have already got the new one (same model) My replacement camera. (Medium)...

Took a dive & drowned another camera..

Took a dive & drowned another camera. With the weather being humid & very heavy cloud cover I thought a trip to the Mersey River may be well worth it. I love fishing in humid conditions as it always seems to get the fish up and running. I was in the river by 6:10 am and the water was like glass, not...
