it really is a beautiful place and i really need to go back and explore more. I've been back once in 25 years and i spent most of the time catching up with relatives i didn't know i had up north. I am amazed though that you were able to take pictures of beaches without rubbish on them.

i've fished it a few times for donuts, throwing plastics and HB lures. like you i've seen and heard of plenty of captures on facebook, but it seems to come and go in phases. 3 to 4 inch plastics seems to be the thing for reddies, not sure about the trout

welcome. lilydale lake is a tough place to catch so don't feel discouraged. if you check the fisheries website for trout stockings you'll be able to find a lake near you. the yarra has heaps of fish but you'll have to do a little legwork to find the good spots. if you're just starting out lure fishi...
