Re: Fish id?

Southern seacarp or marbled kelpfish, called a few things by different people
They are edible, but IMO even worse than a morwong, strong smell to flesh and weedy taste.

Re: Maintaining clears and Bimini

I would wash with warm soap is water. Once dry veiwplex is very good. Read the instructions, I’m not sure if you put on rag then wipe or spray on then wipe of. Use a silicone based spray on zips, there’s plenty on market. Gave viewplex a go already, it did very little. The clears have salt and dirt...

Maintaining clears and Bimini

Hey guys, just after some advice on cleaning/maintaining the clears on my mates boat, seeing as he’s letting me use it while mine isn’t working atm, thought I’d try doing him a favour. The clears are in rough condition, looking for any suggestions on products or anything that people use. Cheers Aussie

Re: How do I find whiting?

Easiest method I found when learning to find whiting was to anchor on the edge of a channel/bank and fish the run out tide either moving along the channel/bank or sitting in the spot for a while and burley up. I personally never done to well looking for sand patches.

Re: Spearfishing and diving?

Anyone do it/tried it? A few of my mates do it, I'm really interested in buying a hawaiin sling and giving it a go. Not the greatest state in Australia to do it but would be fun on the shallow sand flats for flathead imo. I think once overcoming the initial fear of sharks diving would be good too.....

Did you weigh the gummy looks about 13kg?
We didn’t get the chance before we cleaned it and the rush to get back home, I’d say it was about 13kg but my mates keep claiming it’s a bit more.

Flinders report 29/8/18

Just a late report seeing as I haven’t posted anything in a while. Launched at stony point at 7am and made our way down towards flinders, calm conditions the whole way down which was a bonus. Once close we proceeded to troll around for some fresh bait, after spending a good 40mins to an hour with ou...
