Worth targeting Redfin at night?
Been hitting up one of the local creeks for Reddies, fishing mainly 1-2hrs before sunset and having some luck, just curious to know if it’s worth sticking around any longer and fishing while dark. From what I’ve experienced as soon as The Sun goes down the bites stop for me, just want to see if the ...

Same here buddy, been watching winds all week for western port on BOM and sea breeze. To see the winds change so quick is a bummer

Re: Fishing near wallan
From what I've heard there are Redfin in the lakes in the Hidden Valley estate, haven't fished it myself though. Also Merri creek down towards craigieburn or Campbellfield holds Carp and Redfin as well, last time I went was very overgrown and hard to access creek.

Late Portland report
Went down to Portland for the Australia Day weekend with good conditions expected. We arrived to pick up the boat and find that we already had an issue before we even started fishing, having been sitting away for nearly 8 months unused the boat has decided to have a few mechanical problems. S...

Re: Fishing in Port Phillipb Bay
Depends where your planning on going. Werribee/Altona area normally has a bit of a chop with a westerly, but should be fine when the north-west kicks in.Ajantis wrote:Hey Guys,
Would anyone have an idea of the water conditions with a 20km westerly then increasing to a 25km north westerly, in PPB.

Re: Indestructible snapper rod?
Abu Garcia VERITAS 601SPH 6-10kg rod, I have dragged in 20kg + eagle Ray's on the 3-5kg combo and seen it bend down to the butt of the rod, I'm sure the heavier combo will handle anything.

Re: How did you break a rod?
Lost my favourite silstar 2-4kg flick stick to a ray, had it sitting in the rod holder and the braid got caught around the reel, the Ray went under the boat and snap, before I could even get it out.

Re: Flathead spots
Out from Werribee south in 10-12m of water, and also around the sand between point cook and Altona, I believe it's the mouth of korroiet creek from what I can remember.
