If you can get them one of the best baits for carp reddies etc is maggots use pollard for burley mixed with water into golf ball size little nuggets a little often.

I don't think a through hull transducer works to well with an aluminium boat an in hull will but you need to cut a hole and use a plastic bush to stop dissimilar metal corrosion if you use a bronze or ss one. I would have thought the opposite would happen if you have too much weight fwd the boat would tend to bow steer and run slower than normal weight aft would give more bow lift it would be more susceptible to porpoising. That's a ripper fish . the arrow squid are very aggressive and can turn their heads 180degree and bite you. I caught some off Barwon heads on a 60gram jig I put squid jigs out but they preferred the bronze coloured jig funny what they like.
