Eildon trip 19th and 20th

First time out to lake eildon and this was essentially another shake down run to test out the tinny and a chance to get a line in the water. With 2 people in the boat (12ft, flat floor) + fishing gear + 25L petty it manages to get up onto the plane quite well. Outboard is a 1986 18hp tohatsu and if ...

Re: Goulburn Level

cheers mate.

It's an old dehavilland and surprisingly it is in fairly decent condition. Bit pitted and it does have some signs of oxdation but it can be cleaned up. I was thinking about changing the name, but it has grown on me and i don't have the heart to change it now. Gives people a good laugh.

Re: Goulburn Level

It was more of a boat test, but i did throw a line out. managed to get snagged in about 15 casts, but that was just my terrible casting more than anything else. A couple of other blokes looked as though they had some luck and that was around the 1pm mark. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphot...

Re: Goulburn Level

Ended up launching from lions park in seymour. decently strong current and lots of fallen trees semi submerged. Luckily a local was there to point out a couple of spots close to the ramp to be careful of. I managed to get through relatively unscathed. Hit a submerged log and a sandbar that was right...

Re: Goulburn Level

Cheers for that guys. Not overly fussed about not fishing at this stage. It is the first time putting the boat in the water so it's more of a shake down run for the time being. if i get to have a flick it will be a bonus.

Goulburn Level

Hey guys,

Planning on heading up to Seymour to chuck the tinny in tomorrow, but having never been there before I don't know what the levels are like. Can anyone give me an idea on what it's like?

Cheers,
Christian

Re: New to boating

Cheers for that mate, will give it look.

Initially i had plans to just do lake / river work given that the tinny is small, but if its a glassy day then i figure i might as well hit up PBB if i get the chance.

Re: New to boating

Dont want to hijack the thread, but considering it's something I have been wanting to ask as well, I figured I would keep it in the same thread. I have recently picked up a 12ft tinny myself and am looking at hitting up PBB ( on glassy days only ). Am planning on launching from warmies boat ramp, bu...
