Powlett River boneheads...

Took the kids along to the Powlett today for a line-wetting session - didn't expect to catch anything and wasn't disappointed... However, I was more than slightly pissed-off at the amount of crap (as ever) that fishos/bogans leave behind. The path from the road-bridge that heads north along the west...

Re: Is this site becoming redundant?

Forums, such as this, are far, far superior when it comes to keeping track of posts and threads. FB is arse, as many have said. So are pretty much all other "social media" options. It's just as easy to post photos and pics here, on the forum, and once on, they're pretty much here for ever....

Re: Flathead sashimi

Man discovered how to make fire to cook our food, why people eat raw fish is beyond me, I tried raw fish once ( insert smilie throwing up ) With you all the way - raw fish is definitely an acquired taste (and one that I'm never going to have). Slimy, fishy, cold... Just not right... Doesn't ...

Re: Still Using Old Rods??

Still using three old rods - around late 1970s/early 1980s vintage. They certain DO compare to modern rods. The three I use are all hollow-glass and are very comfortable to use (not too heavy). Plus they're certainly tougher than many modern rods - particularly graphite rods that are as fragile as h...

It was a British TV show. Perhaps the head is of a Nile perch which also grow big. Britain controlled quite a number of African countries in the past.

I looked at Nile Perch, Big Grouper and a few others. I'd be 99% sure it's a cod... :-)

Re: What does 'Murray Cod' mean to you?

I don't know how many of you remember "Steptoe and Son", but I was always intrigued by the stuffed fish-head that was mounted on the wall of their living-room. A while ago I did a bit of analysis of various screen-shots (the best of which I can't seem to find now) and came to the conclusio...
