Before I owned a boat I think I did about 20 trips from the beach without a Gummy. Before this I had 5 or 6 trips in a row for one... it happens mate!STriplett1997 wrote:Two Eagle rays and two Banjos. I really wish I knew what I’m doing wrong. Lots of hours the last two months.

Re: Fishing day Saturday
Going to be slow tides with the new moon but never know your luck Tbh I’ve had more success with slow tides during the new moon week, don’t think it’s a bad thing All of the species in WP actually prefer a bit of flow. You can run a couple of kg's of drag without fear of your rod going in the drink.bilby wrote:Yes, but this is a landbased thread - fishing for gummy shark with the drag in gear may lead to distressing results!

Re: Tips For L/B Gummy Sharks?
Circles... fish in gear. Don't strike... let the fish load up the rod.
Don't venture too far from your rod too. If your rod is in hand hold it parallel to the water so the rod doesn't bend before the reel engages.
Somers to Shoreham after the Feb full moon is your best option.

Re: BP/Wooleys Jetty bait collecting help
Put a big rod out when you are bait gathering as well...zzzzzzzzzzzz Would make sense with all the bait around. Plan to fish for the gummies for whole tide tomorrow in a new spot. Will only be Bait gathering for a short time but we’ll see I can help... What time is your Gummy tide? Hey mate. Approx...
