Re: The great 'monster' trout debate!
I caught one below Molesworth last Sunday; went 58 cms but was all head and a very skinny, poor conditioned fish given that they were released less than 2 weeks ago. These fish have been raised in their own private swimming pool and fed daily; they cannot survive in the wild and will not compete wit...

Re: Ghin Ghin on Goulburn
Bodz All land based (on private property with several k's of river frontage) Note: probably fish this area + 25 times per year for approx. 3-4 nights so fairly extensive effort. All Natives caught in past 4 years so obviously some upstream movement since the big drought. Also 1 juvenile Macquarie pe...

Re: Ghin Ghin on Goulburn
Very few natives (bar blackfish) caught in this area. I have only caught 4 Murray Cod, 1 Trout Cod and 1 Yellowbelly in the 20 + years fishing this stretch of water. Interestingly, the 43 cm Yella was caught this year's Queens Birthday long w/e (and no trout!!!)

Re: Digit's Fall?
Access is good. Know of Bass, Carp, Redfin and once stung a 15lb Yellowbelly with electrofishing gear when doing a survey for Melb Water. Any amount of misc fish as the Yarra appears to be a common dumping ground for all sorts of fish

Re: Carp Virus
Virus will only work within limited temperature ranges. Will not be effective in many rivers eg Goulburn downstream of Eildon because water too cold.

Only problem is that I find I need to continually re log on with user/password when reading various texts. It doesn't seem to recognise that I have already logged in successfully

Re: estuary perch any good?
Great eating; even after being frozen. Only ate a few fish accidently caught/killed in official fish surveys.

Re: toolondo
Previous weekend (Fri-Mon morning) fished lake very hard, trolling assortment of tassies. Only caught 3 trout (2 Browns, 1 Rainbow) 2.5 lbs-4lbs with one dropped and a few odd half-hearted strikes. Mate caught 2 x 3.5 lb Browns, dropping another. Others caught similar numbers either trolling or cast...
