Yes Tafe in Lakes does do one, but it is only on when they get enough applicants. I have done the professional one as it is part of my passenger carrying ticket. It is well worth doing. However if time and money makes it hard to get to, then a good study up on the Gippsland Ports site and a few bar...

The morning looks ok, so a first light session should be ok, swell prediction is for 2.5 to 3m by the evening.
Beach structure looks ok at high tide, not sure about at low tide, that may be a small issue, but always worth a shot.

Just make sure you learn to tie all the knots, don't rely on someone else to do them for you all the time.
A plait isn't that hard to tie, and makes it all the more worth while when you catch something, to know you set up the whole outfit.

Just go buy it, you should get away with around 1cubic m for that area, should on,y be around $40. It will most likely be better than anything anyone will give you for free also. For that price i mite. Thort it would cost more. Most garden centres sell a vegie mix, which is a blended soil/mulch/com...
