Re: New ledge ignites!

If it's in the area I'm thinking of, I've never had jigs work well in there either but bait's on prongs are pretty consistent for nice squid. When the weather warms up a bit more you might find a few more fishos down there overnight but the KGW which hang around through the summer make it worthwhile...

Re: casting

If you're wanting to cast weight out 100m+ then you should probably not bother with bait on that same setup and look at using slider rigs to get bait to where you want it. These ones are sold by the ex-sponsors and are used up here in NSW for targeting the big silver fish in the surf using livebaits...

Re: Kerferd pier, some tips for a complete newbie?

I always found I needed to burley up at kerferd, but once I did could always get some flathead. I never worried about casting a mile away from the pier either, found that when I did that I always found snags. Paternosters chucked not too far out, berley dropped over the side and it always fished bet...

Re: Trout: Rabbits of the river!

Hear Hear. It's why I don't feel bad about keeping my bag of trout, especially in the waters upstream of dams where natives may be able to regain a foothold if given the opportunity. Re: Atlantic Salmon

you could always try to stink some of it up more as well, marinade it in a little tuna oil or curry powder (i've never used it, but I know a couple of chicken fisho's who swear by it).

Re: Dasher River, Plenty Of Trout Today

Gorgeous little fish! I've been fishing a little bit up in the barrington tops here in NSW, haven't been having too much luck, only a few small rainbows in the warmer water but hopefully as the flows increase and the water cools, I can fish a few of the runs which are very shallow at the moment. How...
