success on the Yarra - 8th March

A successful evening on the Yarra tonight.
It is still running rather high and fast - it just has not had a chance to drop this season.
Scrubworms on a running sinker rig did the trick
One small eel and a nice brown trout - both released to fight another day

First trip to Kakarook

Made my first trip down to Kakarook this afternoon. Drive there and back was a pain in the rear - think I managed to get every red light in both directions :( Hit the lake up with a scrubworm under a float and a mix of SPs and tassie devils on the second rod. Spent a little over two hours working my...

Aura Vale lake - 22/02/2020

Spent the better part of today throwing SPs at Aura Vale lake. I haven’t been there for a few years but the first thing I recalled upon arrival was………bloody water lilies…….. The lake is ringed with them – from the bank to a few meters out. There are small breaks here and there, and it Is clear along...

Redfin locations in Melbourne's east

G'day All I went for a bit of a walk along the Yarra this afternoon and after all the recent rain it is up even higher, and running faster, making fishing it through my normal areas more than difficult. So my attention has turned to maybe chasing some redfin in dams/lakes on the eastern side of town...

Yarra @ Millgrove - 8th Feb 2020

This evening's session started out great, bites started coming within the first five minutes. 15 mins in and I landed a 25cm River Blackfish.... Didn't get a picture, slippery sucker jumped out of my hands while I was fiddling with the phone. The bites kept coming for about 40 mins and then it went ...
