Re: Yarra @ Millgrove 22nd Sept

Thanks Guys
Not too concerned - it was only the first trip out for the season
As the weather warms and the river flow slow, I have no doubt I will get back on to them again :-D

Yarra @ Millgrove 22nd Sept

With blue skies, high barometer and warm weather today I could hear the fishing rod calling.....been a long Winter break and I was itching to get out fishing today. So dug up some worms, packed the car and headed for Millgrove. The Yarra was looking good and I had high hopes for a fish or two..........

Re: Is this site becoming redundant?

Think you hit the nail on the head Dougie I know I personally don't get out much at all over Winter and therefore have no report to provide. But as the weather warms, the water level in the Yarra lows and slow, and the days get longer - I will be able to get out more and reports/tips/observations wi...

Re: Media Release: BRIGHT FUTURE FOR FISHING IN THE MARIBYRNONG RIVER

Always good to see news like this - but when will such programs get applied to the Yarra.
Seems the Yarra is the forgotten river in Victoria.......

Re: 3AW Rumour File

It's not just out in the bay - plenty of freshwater locations get "terra-formed" by fishos. I might know of a few spots along the Yarra where "work" has been done. In most cases i may have heard about, it does often have a positive result. That said - I would not want to see the ...

Re: Carp herpes virus - alarm bells ringing

It is a real catch 22 - pretty well everyone wants carp gone, or at least vastly reduced, but every option put forward seems to have risk attached. I'm no expert so have to go by what information we are told - and there is always two sides of every story - but I have to put my faith in fisheries tha...

Re: Landbased Options for Kids and Families

Did you fish around Herring Island around in Yarra river before or see someone fish there? What kinds of fish did you catch? :) I go past there often and see people fishing there from time to time. I have tried there in the past as well. Seen bream and carp caught. There are many bridges nearby Her...

tim neville arboretum?

Has anyone tried fishing at TNA (tim neville arboretum) in Boronia since the council cleaned out the ponds? At the time the council reported all fish were removed and there was no plans to replace them. Bets were that carp would miraculously find there way back in. Just wondering if anyone has tried...
