Re: VIC COUPLE FINED IN WA

They did not have to attend as they plead guilty but the law seems to be beyond stupid. You are allowed a maximum possession limit of 10kg of fillets per person. One decent pelagic fish will exceed this. So you can legally catch it and keep it but the moment you fillet it you are breaking the law.....

https://vfa.vic.gov.au/recreational-fishing/fishing-locations/inland-angling-guide/areas/thomson2/thomson-angling-waters First stop I ever make when hitting up a new area is this section of the VFA website. It helps form a picture of a catchment and any sub-branch creeks, what species each particul...

Re: SC knot vs FG knot. What do you use?

I'll stick to my modified improved slim beauty. Strong enough, compact enough, simple to tie in wind in the dark and doesn't have a tendency to cut into itself like the double uni can

Re: Patterson river fishing report

Very nice. There's been some solid fish on the chew lately. I'm envious with the surface hit, I haven't had any real luck aside from a couple of barely legal fish and a couple of Bream off the top for near on 18 months. It's a tough place to crack and worth the effort to move around to find more tha...

Re: Patterson river mouth

2 things you don't want: 15knot+ onshore wind in PPB, and a 15knot+ wind against tide anywhere in WP.

And no, it wouldn't have improved by much at all once you got out

Re: Trolling motor for Westernport?

What Purple said. You're using a minimum of 6oz of lead to hold a pilchard on the bottom in most deeper places in Westernport, it's a 24v system all day everyday to spotlock even a "small" Outlaw in that tidal flow, and with wind and chop on top. If you're strictly a shallow water whiting and squid ...

Re: Fish in my dam

https://narrabrifishfarm.com.au/product/golden-perch-fingerlings these will be a bit easier to get permits to release (if you want to do it legally) given the translocation issue with Bass. Either way, $200 for about 150 fingerlings of either species, $100 in small pellets to get them started and s...

Re: carp at Shepperton lake

You actually forget how much fun these things are on 2-4kg gear. First few were on clear with blue glitter minnow style 2 1/2 inch plastics on old weedless jigheads due to the shallow rocky area, even when it was tied straight to the braid in the end before getting sick of re-rigging and swapping to...
