Re: Boat Ramps

As far as I'm aware boat ramps are a local council issue and not a State gov issue. I would like to see the $ breakdown of where that money is going. 5.1m annually to Vicroads just for collecting the money, average 3m annually actually spent actually on ramps the rest goes in an account that by leg...

Re: Boat Ramps

Great to see some moment regarding ramps, I've complained several time to the council regarding the warmies boat ramp parking and access, you get cars (no trailers) parking along the prep lane who leave their cars while they go fishing along the approach to the power station, also the pontoons get ...

Re: Boat Ramps

With any luck Rex is the bloke to get action without a doubt. Complete p1ss take our government Governments. Given it's local councils charging and pocketing the cash... Can park the car with the yuppies of Sorrento for free, yet drive 100m down the road with a boat and have to pay $12. Same goes f...

Re: Mercury 75hp vs Suzuki 70hp fourstroke

Blacklab said it, there's no replacement for displacement. Merc 2.1l detuned 115 capable of 130hp, Suzuki 1.5l detuned 90 (the 100 is rung out to the max). Vesselview is brilliant, every bit of data you could want in front of your eyes on a single screen. The Merc (2.1l 75-115proxs) has been out for...

Re: New PB (I Think)

There's some absolute stonkers in there. Seen 1 in a group of 5 that made the rest look tiny, and the others were all close to or over 40cm where the old pipeline used to cross over the creek. Still to this day I've never pulled a fish off that tree in over a decade of fishing there... Anyway great ...

Re: Snags on Friday..

Is it un-australian of me to show little sympathy toward our farmers? I mean, some chose their career paths, most had it handed to them on a silver platter, none of them are forced to continue doing what they are doing yet most ask for hand outs. I can guarantee almost every farmer is doing it bett...

Re: Slack tide at the Rip/heads

Few minutes at most for slack tide but the tide is slow for about 30 minutes. Whilst a good idea to pass on slack tide or incoming tide the dangers of the RIP are over hyped. Sections of the Rip go form 60 M to 15 M depth and this transition of depth cause "Sudden Waves" cos the water is ...

Re: Snags on Friday..

I'll get to this big bastard of a post after dinner lol Edit: they aren't really facts. At least not true facts anyway. As far as I'm aware, farms can well and truly be handed down, I work with a bloke who inherited 200 acres of farm land... if you are sold farm land for the price of $0 off your pa...

Re: Snags on Friday..

Where shall I start ! Hmm. Having been bought up on a dairy farm and fully knowing the sheer hours of graft put in 7 days a week, I share the empathy with these farmers. FACT, farms cannot be simply handed over to their sons. FACT there are way less generational handed down farms, than those bought...
