Re: Floor Covering

That Haines is just bog standard flow coat with minimal fleck or none at all. Speaking from experience coming from speckled flow coat, to permanent carpet, to removable vinyl tubing the tubing wins hands down. Softer and cooler than flow coat, as east to clean as base flow coat while being a tonne e...

Re: Thoughts

Having not much experience with sounders how can you guys tell what arches are/judge how large fish are from them? I'm trying to learn as I'll be using one on my yak soon and want to get the most out of it. Arches = fish. The blob indicates a dense school of "something". More likely bait. The depth...

FG on everything when I have the time and light to tie it. PR on heavy stuff if I have a bobbin handy. Slim beauty all times I don't have time, light or patience

Re: Strange hookups

Fishing in my local, i kept having these weird hookups, then lose fish. But would come back with scales on the hook point. Happened for ages. They were heavy hookups too. Was driving me bonkers. Then one day it came up tight. After a great fight...a Luderick came up. Pinned in the same spot as your...

I was fishing just up from cowes pier and caught a bug like a morten or Balmain bug. Tasted great.
They love getting a leg caught in a small long shank hook around Warneet channel too.

Cobby I have caught a few eps that way pinned behind the gills.
I've pinned a few in eye sockets, cheeks and sides before but never actually just wedged in the gape of the hook until Sunday. More surprising given the amount of moonlight too.

Re: Sounder for kayak angling.

Hey guys, thought i'd hop on this thread instead of starting a new one With the recent purchase of my kayak i'm looking at getting a sounder, wondering which one you guys would recommend. I was thinking $99-199, and the main model I was considering was the Lowrance Hook2 4x with GPS, but any other ...

Re: furuno/transducer combo for port phillip bay

Yes what Frozenpod said. A P66 transducer has 10deg beam on 200khz and 45deg on 50khz. If i recall correctly. To put that in perspective. Very narrow beams of 4-6 deg will make fish appear as small dots, but they do fantastic bottom shape pics. Cray fishermen looking for crevasses use them. At 10 d...

Strange hookups

Anyone else foul hooked something in the strangest way? This little EP was quite unfortunate early Sunday morning, obviously took a swipe at the plastic and missed, only to be wedged in the gape of the hook by the bony section at the rear of the gill cavity. Was released with perfectly intact gills,...
