I will trust the weatherman before these guys.

Actually it was predicted to be average fishing between 15-19 with a slight rise for 20.

Re: VFA Media Alert: HANDS OFF VICTORIAN TUNA

What I find strange is recent information on stock levels indicate that SBT numbers are increasing and bag limits could sustainably be increased. So why not leave the rec the bag limit as is and increase the commercial catch whilst monitoring the fishery. Yes it is a contradictory think. I can see ...

Re: Getting on with boat re-build

Good question, down to either the 140 suk, or the 115 merc command thrust, leaning towards the merc at the minute. But maybe another manufacturer will come up with a newer lighter higher H.P by the time I start to look. But on all accounts, the merc is certainly performing well on all accounts Col ...

Re: VFA Media Alert: HANDS OFF VICTORIAN TUNA

The tag proposal is a decent one and gives AFMA knowledge of what's going on since they're to bloody lazy to do it without being pushed. 10-15 tags per person annually whether through AFMA or VFA at NO additional cost to the angler to be used between 1st October and 30th September with all unused ta...

Re: VFA Media Alert: HANDS OFF VICTORIAN TUNA

I think the real issue people are having is that in SA they have increase the commercial quota by 500t while at the same time reducing the rec limit to 1 fish pp. This. Compounded by those representing the industry body crying woe is me that the buying of initial quotas way back when sent business ...

Re: Nissan X-Trail as a tow vehicle?

It's all to do with GCM. If that figure is 5500kg, Max towing is 3500kg and car weight is 1750kg you have a maximum of 250kg of additional weight before your 3500kg towing capacity is reduced. If 5 passengers weigh a total of 550kg then your maximum towing capacity is reduced to 3200kg

Re: Nissan X-Trail as a tow vehicle?

A lot of the equivalent brands have moved to smaller engines or are in desperate need of updating the engine & fuel efficiencies (mitsubishi pajero) and twin cab utes are not everyones solution. PM me if you want to talk more on the Jeep. I may be biased since one sits in the bonnet of my Trito...
