Re: Sounder for kayak angling.

Garmin Striker 7SV. $599 in current bargain boat bits catalogue. No maps unless you create your own, but does everything else (and in my opinion better than Lowrance of equivilant value). Any idea what transducer I should be looking at if I want to be able to pick up enough detail in 150m to easily...

Re: STILL NO BREAMS

They're the kind of fish that offer just the right balance of challenge and reward that keep both kids and experienced anglers alike smiling. Re: 60 ft deep

Switch bait them. Have a Whiting on a prong, have a pilly on a prong and an egi jig ready to go on handlines and/or rods. When one comes up with your gummy bait drop a jig or bait straight in to drift to the squid. Works most times

Re: Best squid bait (not squid jigs or lures)?

Morno gets a tonne of divers, get onto YouTube and watch the dive videos and see what small bait fishes are in their videos. Use whatever they are on a spike under a float. For ultimate bait rig one live under a float with a spare set of squid jig barbs just pinned in its backside. It'll likely be W...

Re: Winter kayak attire.

Probably not the greatest setup... But the standard mesh/neoprene shoes, if a little bit if wind I'll throw on explorer socks underneath once launched, Sharkskin pants, thermal too, shirt and a decent regular jumper. The pants are damn warm and other than fingertips and toes without socks the rest s...
