Yeah next time if in a situation like that. Measure from the rod grip to the rod tip. Avoid the reel area as it can be a bit tricky.. Or mark lines on the sand and release fish. Then measure the Mark's on the sand using a piece of mono go home and match it to a tape measure. Or always carry a tape m...
