Re: Mcloughlins beach jetty

You will be better to fish at Robertsons Beach - heaps of access on all tides and a lot better options for fish to catch. flatties, whiting, eps, bream etc. if the river flow is too fast, walk around to the southern side, there's a great area there. You can walk along the sand flats with a soft plas...

Re: tackle backpacks

Have a look at Hurley’s in Bentleigh or Aussie Angler at Briar Hil, they both have a range of bags & packs in their fly fishing gear.

Re: Anaconda. Watch the prices at the checkout.

Yeah and make sure you check the dates on any flares you buy from anywhere, I purchased and set from a well known boating and fishing outlet only to find them already 10 months into their expiry, so my last set I just asked at the counter for the flares the guy serving me grabbed a set from under t...

Re: RIP Clint Jones. (troutandbream/rodreellurefish)

Adrian, thanks for letting us know. Sorry to read the news about Clint, certainly a loss to the whole fishing community, his friends and family. Never good to lose a fishing mate & someone with the energy to catch trees, fall over & post videos! Clint & his videos will be missed by the broader FV & ...

Re: EPIRB with GPS

Ive looked into a few of the options recently as mine needed to be replaced. I came up with this one https://www.bcf.com.au/p/digital-406mhz-gps-epirb/361040.html it's the same price at all the retailers at the moment. I'll go with the manual activation, if you feel concerned that you might not get ...

Re: An Apology

I wish to apologise if I have unintentionally mislead people . I would have thought announcing the creation of rec fisheries for trout cod in those three waters would have been a big deal, something the VFA could have been proud of. For those of us who have been involved with trout cod such an anno...

Re: Pipis and Prejudice

Sadly this happens all along estuaries in Gippsland & very little is being done to police/manage the situation. There is a regular bus load of ppl at Mcloughlins Beach. Within 18 months they have walked through, trampled and killed off the weed beds between the 2 jetties in their endeavours. ½ of th...
