I'm at Monbulk, so can access down to Warrandyte or up Yarra Glen way. Have tried Jumping Creek a few times for zero. Past Warrandyte is getting a little far away
Got some maggots on the go so will try those soon. But in general it's hard going at present.

Wonga Park
Spent 3 fruitless hours until dark at WP. One strong bite that took me into snags -probably eel? Otherwise it continues to be a waste of petrol going over to the Yarra at present Bangg

Re: Carp in Lilydale lake?????
Had a couple of good bites at Lilydale without hooking up, just before Easter. Carp? Eels, redfin?. I also refuse to believe all the trout have been fished out of this lake - too many inaccessible corners

Lilydale lake
Just a general question about the lake. Olinda Creek, both above and below the lake contains blackfish. Yet I have never seen any report of blackfish being in the lake.
Does this mean they will not live in a lake???

Floreat
I will be over in WA awaiting my grandchilds arrival. I will be at Floreat, and have heard that the beach is reasonable for surf fishing. Anyone had any experience of that area?
Will need to buy gear over there, and am assuming standard beach rod etc.
Any help would be gratefully received. :water:

Maggot breeding.
Help! I need some expert advice. I've got a stinky container full of maggots that I want to transfer to bran/oatmeal. Apart from standing there for hours with tweezers. is there an easy way to get the little grubs into the clean medium? :help:

Re: Catch & Release , Do You Practice It ?
I think it is difficult to answer yes or no to this. Depends on what and where. A redfin from the Yarra would be kept. A cod from the same water returned. I suspect most anglers would fall into the 'depends' category :gone:
