Re: Bait Board Suggestions for Fiberglass Boat

Hey mate. You should make 1 thread for all your questions relating to the new boat rather than making a thread for everything you think about.

Re: Best Lure?

If you’re chasing pinkies or flatties i’d use turtleback worms in pumpkinseed.

Don’t skimp on the jigheads though. Only use nitro saltwater 2/0’s or 3/0’s. Or tt jigheads. Cheap jigheads will open up on anything bigger than a pinky.

Re: Taking a 4M tinnie in the ocean?

I would definitely take a 4m tinny to Portland. Fish the harbour and the inner area before Lawrence rock. However I wouldn’t head more than 2-3kms from the harbour itself and I’d only leave the harbour when the water is sheltered from the wind.

Bait where you want light weight. Ultimate would be 3-6kg. 3-4000 sized reel. 15lb mono. Bait where weight isn’t a factor. 5-8kg rod. 4500b bait runner. 20lb mono Lure outfit. 4-12lb rod. 2510 daiwa reel 20lb leader. 1/4-1/2oz jighead. 4-6” plastic. With this you can easily run 2-3kg of drag and kno...

Re: Old boat fuel disposal

Could let the 8 liters sit for a while akd then try and seperate it again. Could then put it back threw the boat with new petrol and the fuel filter should take the rest of the water out Be careful there smile. People might think that’s a serious suggestion. It’s not 2 litres of water that’s gotten...

Re: Jig rod recommendation

Gomoku black with a 4-5000 Shimano reel would be perfect for you. Definitely manages 200gm but does fold a bit. Beautiful in hand and really suits the 60-120gm range.

If you are using heavier jigs more than light ones I too have a deep jig 200 which I pair with an 8k gosa. Does the 200gm jigs nicely.

Black wolf turbo 450 lite is around $1100 at anaconda atm. Very nearly bought one of these for the fam earlier this year when they were $1400. They are huge! And go up quickly.
