Re: Species Comp 16/17

How'd you steal my brag mat pic?

Lol. Nah it's a pretty shitty image. Wasn't plonked on that angle on purpose. Hard to get a good brag mat shot in the middle of a lake with 2 sit ins next to each other.

Re: Paynesville / Raymond Island prawning/crabbing?

Small circle hooks with small pieces of Unweighted prawn off any of the pontoons. Drop down coils of slack line on the surface as it falls. When it starts taking off set the hooks.

All jetties there hold bream.

As for prawning. I've done it there but not in any numbers or size. Trip to lakes?.

Re: Hazlewood Landbased

Don't worry about floats or anything. The smallest mosquito hooks you can find. A piece of plastic half the size of your pinky finger nail. And a few slices of bread. Maybe a small split shot of your plastic floats Throw out the bread. Dip the plastic in and around it. They are retardedly aggressive.

Re: Kingfish charter recommendation

Was one of the staff from trellys in geelong that got that. Bycatch chasing sharks. Took a live slimey on 200lb wire. As for the first poster above. Been out on half a dozen charters with shaun, always had a good time. It's not a cattle bus where they put on a bbq lunch and never has been. Maybe a c...

In all honestly though I wish there was places you could catch them in VIC without having to put out pots.

Lambys in geelong
Orange Whip in Ringwood
Most places in the city

Plenty of places to get crabs mate.

Re: Where is Quail Bank???

Top end of westernport. The northern bank between yaringa channel and warneet channel.

Very squiddy looking. Fished it a few times and never done much good there though. It's similar the tortoise head bank in as far as you can you a fairly long drift there. A bit shallower though.

Re: Shimano Catana 762ML Egi rod - anyfeedback?

Yeah that's why I said similar ratings.

To be fair though. How many rods have you lost over the side of your yak? Takes a bit of a screw up to actually lose one. Especially if you're not taking out 5 at a time like some yakkers do.

Re: Please help

I do a lot of varied stuff and I use a few knots commonly and a couple every now and then. Centauri knot all terminal connections. (So easy it's ridiculous and doesn't damage line as easily if tied poorly unlike a blood or uni knot) Kreh knot for looped connections to lures. Tagless dropper loop for...
