Re: Removing restrictions on trout.

I would be a happy man if they stopped trout stocking tomorrow and instead focussed the dollars on native stockings. I enjoy catching trout but I don't think put and take fisheries have a great ROI What staggers me is the trout fishos that treat them like an endangered species and believe they shoul...

Agreed with above. Better jigs can be had for less money. I've owned a few gancrafts and have never been a fan.

Re: Does anglers killing carp make any difference?

Wolly. As I stated in my pm in reply to the warning you gave me for that post mentioning the recent policing being a bit "strong" There is a fine line between moderating effectively, letting threads run rampant and shutting down discussion. The mix here was very good for a long time. Your ...

Re: Does anglers killing carp make any difference?

I honestly don't think it could make any more than a superficial effect on a waterway. Take tna for example, tiny waterway. it has been fished for yonks. Still produces bulk carp. If killing carp can't cut the numbers in a tiny lake like that what hope does it have of changing numbers anywhere else?...

Re: Should there be Boat Catch limits?

Why people suggest closed seasons on fish that show no signs of needing a closed season is beyond me. As for most estuary species. The min size needs to be lifted 3-5cm across the board. Then maybe. Just maybe as a collective we would have bigger fish before they are harvested. Who actually knows if...

Re: Searching for the impossible

It's definitely doable. I've seen it done and considered it myself. But it has quite a few detractors. Eg. You can't launch the boat if your tent is setup. ( fine if camping at a river etc where you can leave the boat in the water) Putting boat on trailer ain't that easy with the frame above you Hav...

Re: Charter recommendation

I'd either take a charter with reel time or think big.

Both will probably be doing squid and whiting charters. Reeltime if port Phillip and think big if westernport.
