Re: Wlliiamstown Arvo Flick

Perfect Monroe, 1/8 jighead on a 2/0 hook, maybe a 3/0, depending on the wind. Bit heavier. Nice one, good to hear you did ok, no use whinging if the bay is windy, just go fishing at the fishing piers. Finding a happy medium in weights. Shallow water with plenty of that wonderful fine green weed. 2...

Re: Wlliiamstown Arvo Flick

How did you go with weed? I had stopped going down to those piers because of the large amount of new weed that popped up a little while ago. Nice work on scoring a couple of flatties though!. Weed is not too bad. my last session there a while back , there was heaps. Looks like it'll die off and tur...

Wlliiamstown Arvo Flick

On the start of a week off , thought I'd walk the piers with the high tide and seeking a little shelter from the wind. 9.5cm Paddletails rigged to a 1/8oz 2/0 Jighead. It's great to see yanks this size in such shallow water. With warmer weather coming up, it's only going to get busier  Munr...

Re: Merimbula

20 min further Nth you have Kianinny in Tathra. Quite sheltered... Seen 4 meter tinnies head out without issue ... but can be tricky.
That time of the year, NE winds are common and usually restrict off shore from what I have seen over the years.

Re: Soft plastics for Snapper

Best I,ve found are 4" Jerkbaits in Hot Pinks and Orange colours. Jigheads for that depth 5/0 1/8th or 1/4oz in rough conditions. I only target them with plastics. If I only had 1 plastic it would be a D.O.A. Jerkbait 4" in Pink Ice One of the most helpful replies in this thread for the original po...

Re: Werribee South Boat ramp - FREE

St Helens in Geelong is $5 and that goes towards the coast guard which is reasonable. Or do like Nude Up suggested go down bellarine more better fishing grounds there anyway. I haven’t launched at St. Helens for a while do they have a machine or is it only when the coastguard is present mostly week...

Re: Werribee South Boat ramp - FREE

Even when it was working I still did not pay...touch wood not been booked. Altona online ticket thing is a joke . You may find that W'bee may go down the same line with online ticketing. I can't believe that the measly cost of CCTV ( In the bigger picture) can solve a whole lot of issues like vanda...

Re: Boat ramp etiquette

Patience. If someone is struggling with boat ,offer assistance /rather then telling them to hurry fook up. That is so true. Words of wisdom right there. Not every boat is easy to launch and retrieve especially going solo. Society has gone the " Only Me that counts" mentality. Shame that our fishing...

Re: Beach fishing between Williamstown and Werribee South

One thing with the beaches on the west side is that they are shallow flats within casting distance. Cambell's is ranging between 1- 2 meters for some 200-300 meters before it starts to drop off.Even the channel at the W'bee River Mouth is only 2 meters at it's deepest. Saying this, there are some gu...
