Re: Venus Bay

I think you need a yak or tinny to go upstream of the bridge, it’s on my to do list. I study google earth and walk around the area looking for access to the Tarwin land based but unfortunately they are few and far between, the platforms are ok but are usually full on weekends. Sorry, wasn't clear. ...

Re: Venus Bay

Good to hear you got onto some fish Troy. We were in Inverloch for the weekend (we were one of those lots of people down there for the weekend!) and gave the EPs a red hot go in the Tarwin. I think I will go with the single hook, can’t hurt to try anyway. I had a quick flick yesterday arvo at a few ...

Re: When can Victorians expect to go fishing again?

Just watched the ABC 7:30 report and they said some very interesting things: Australia: Stage 3 Lock down. Covid cases 26* per 100,000 people NZ: Stage 4 Full lock down. Covid cases 30 per 100,000 *may have even been better if it wasn't for the ruby princess fiasco Sweden: No lock down. Social dist...

Re: A day on the water - SA

Thank you for giving me a chance to live vicariously through your report. I almost felt the wind in my face, the smell of the ocean, the flick of the rod, the bite of the fish and the taste of the smorgasbord of seafood. Blue swimmers are so expensive and we can't catch them here! How I wish I can g...

Re: When can Victorians expect to go fishing again?

This is getting pretty hard now. Being stuck home with young kids is hard. Not being able to even go for a drive down the beach is extreme and not scientifically important in virus control. We'll probably lose more young people to suicide than we save in elderly or immune compromised people. I don'...

Fishing reports around the country (except Victoria)

Hello fellow suffering Victorian fishos While patiently waiting for the state lockdown measures to be relaxed in Victoria and not seeing any reports on here for a while, I thought I'd check out the latest weekly fishing report in Noosa https://www.fishingnoosa.com.au/april0420.htm for a bit of a fis...

Re: When can Victorians expect to go fishing again?

I would say that they would come very close to agreeing on the risk associated with playing golf and fishing it's just where the priorities and risk tolerance of those making the decisions lie that has led to different outcomes imo. Either lower risk tolerance in vic or greater emphasis on mental w...

Re: When can Victorians expect to go fishing again?

And this from our Health Minister yesterday: "So forgive me if I think staying alive is more important than playing a round of golf.” So does this mean the other State Health Ministers aren't of the same opinion? Are they of the opposite view: "Playing golf is more important than staying alive?" Mmm...

Re: When can Victorians expect to go fishing again?

Just wondering... about the individual CHOs of each state and territory? Since going fishing (and playing golf and even going back to school for term 2 plans) are all different for each state and territory, does that mean that they are all working from different data and information and hence giving...
