Fishing may not be the most fantastic, but have a look at Aysuns Reserve near Elmore, its on the Campaspe river has toilet facilities, camping is free and it could be a good base to work from.

Just near there, there are a couple of unusually deep holes both on bends that might also be worth a fish for mulloway, we found one afternoon when we made a trip up the yarra as it was to rough to go out and fish the bay,

Garden Snails either with their shells off, or just step on them and then put the hook through the body with the crushed shell still on, also seems to work, well as a bait Caught my first eels this way in the Yarra near Warburton and not so long ago when I was on holidays' at Wye River on the Surf C...

For those people practicing their casts on reserves or footy grounds; try , pre drilling a tennis ball, run some electrical wire through it, attach a treble to the wire, push treble and wire back into the tennis ball so that the barbs go through the ball and are on the inside of the ball then squeez...

Noticed a local fishmonger selling Murray cod the other day at 30-40cm in length and spoke to the DEPI about it, who followed up and said they had spoken to the fishmonger who showed them a receipt/invoice from a commercial fish farm, so the fish were actually legal to sell. Went back to Big W at Forest Hill, got hem to ring Big W at Epping and scan bottles there, bottles scanned at $10, Forest Hill said our problem" have your bottle for $10 -deal done", my bottle dates stamped 10/12 so its got about 7 years left on.
