People get carried away talking in absolutes. You don't NEED the freshest bait possible to catch a fish but it will improve your chances. You don't NEED fluro carbon but some people like to use it, especially when finesse fishing. You definitely don't need berley but situationally it can be extremel...

Nah salmon 100% landed them but out of maybe 1000 fish (ok maybe 400 or so ) i could see we landed 7 between 3 people hahahah. Was the same story next few times as well. There's always a few silly ones that get greedy.. All the time I had 14lb leader on . Not that it would matter but I was wonderin...

Thanks for that. Last few times I've found them. They have been sitting deep. No birds no bust ups nothing. Just schools of them sitting deep. A lure casted into them made them scatter. Slugs , even baited jigheads never got a sniff Ive seen salmon and then I've seen these salmon. Only way to get a...

have you noticed salmon being leader shy at any sage dougie? ive been using my squid outfit with 14lb leader on the salmon recently, most days they have been very picky and not actively feeding, still got them but wasnt easy, was actually wondering if going down to 8lb or so would make any differen...

Cheers bud. There goes the live bait idea. You can just as effectively catch mullet with a tiny bit of chicken and a size 14 'mosquito' hook. Also Dezza 4lb is completely unreasonable for salmon. I'm literally casting 60lb at the moment (cos my salmon reel exploded and i'm spinning with a 10k longt...

If you can find a rising tide after dusk it's also full of whiting. High tide is around 5pm So should be helpfull. If worse comes to worse ill might hit corinella. Im just hopeless for spots around phillip island/ that way Saturday is going to be really rough weather wise. I think hes fishing Sunda...
