To the best of my knowledge, the majority of the fish that we find in the super markets are sourced from a commercial fishing, which is controlled by different regulations than the recreational fishing. Basically, they go by the fishing net size, and whatever has been captured by the net is sellable...

Yes, you get it right Foofo … it is Albright knot, and it is very famous in Fly Fishing for it strength in holding together 2 different materials of line, beside it is very neat knot ... the digram below is how it looks generally ... but to be frank with you, I did not see any one using it other tha...

In general, yes, these beaches are good places for fishing, and it can produce good Salmon on the back surf and great flatties on the front, but you still need to work out the right tide, time, winds and to be able to locate nice gutters and suitable bait. Great post Bartnmax … all you said are good spots for surf fishing I personally would recommend Gunnmatta on the east side, and the area between Anglesea to Fairhaven beaches on the west side for surf fishing … they all produce a good Salmon, and if you can get a good gutter you may be lucky enough ...
