Hey all,
heading to portland soon and just wondering how people go about targetting the kings there. obviously fishing the north shore is shallow meaning jigging isnt practical. so just wondering some of the methods of targetting them. thanks

snapper - boat 8.1kg and 85cm
land 50cm and 2kg

flathead - boat 60cm
-land 55cm

whiting - 43cm

gummy - land 110cm and 7kgs

bream - 45cm

kingfish 71cm

squid - 40cm hood

carp 9kgs 90cm

they are the well known ones

how was water clarity mate, thinking of hitting the squid tomorrow early. bagged (3 people) in an hour and a half a couple weeks ago but since has had some strong easterlies and rain. cheers

good stuff mate. i managed 6 between around 5:45 and 8pm on monday. real tough going though, put in probably over 100 casts for the day and only on white jigs for me.

hooked 2 earlier this year at williamstown when the little salmon were around. they were chasing the schools, we were just mucking around throwing the salmon on 8/0 circles live to see what happens and we had 2 runs from the first 2 so we continued then hooked one which surfaced straight away. would...

also to note. freshwater is a problem, lines pushing under the boat or way off to the side no matter the tide or wind. I had the exact same problem yesterday mate. also to note. freshwater is a problem, lines pushing under the boat or way off to the side no matter the tide or wind. Very true!
