Re: Anaconda. Watch the prices at the checkout.

I went into one yesterday and had to remind/explain to the cashier that Zman lures are 3 packs for $22. Had to go and get the sign for him and everything! I probably wouldn't have spotted it (as bought a whole heap of other lures) if I didn't see this post the other day.

It's a tank! It's overkill 90% of the time so I don't take it out too often, but I will hopefully snag a kingy on it one day and get a solid fight to test it out properly

Re: Effects underspooling a reel has on casting distance + report

Agree with the above, just switch to small circle hooks! The more line there is on a spool (provided it isn't overflowing/up to and over the lip of the spool - this will end up in birdsnests, wind knots and wasted time) the less resistance there is on the lip of the lip when you cast. Imagine if you...

Re: Baitcaster use in salt water.

I use a Okuma Komodo SS if I take a BC set up out for flicking lures in salt when going for jewies, snapper etc (....not too successfully). It's salt resistant and a solid piece of kit, heavily recommended

Re: Two years apart, what's the odds of it happening again!!!

I have a good you'll never believe it but... story too. Years back fishing for wels catfish in England, I made a perfectly presented rig that I just knew was a slayer. I cast out to some fishy looking overhanging trees across the lake but overshot it and got stuck in the tree (of course). A few re-b...

Re: What does 'Murray Cod' mean to you?

"Frustration", I saw a baby one (around 30cm long) that could have saved a blank in Warradyte yesterday, just chilling right on the surface taking in some sun. I got 5 different lures right past it's face and it wasn't having any of them and eventually swam off, so yeah "frustration&...

Re: Daiwa

I reckon a Daiwa Windcasts or Saltists are the closest to a Gosa I can think of.

Re: Travel Rods and Fishing tackle on aeroplanes.

Should be all fine mate, I flew to Oz from England in March with 4 rods and reels (/used line on the spools) and loads of lures/hooks and random terminal tackle bits and pieces, checked it in, declared it, no dramas You can't take line and hooks in carry on luggage and will have to check it in, the ...
