Re: Sufix braid.

Love suffix braid, in the lighter strains it's excellent for lure fishing, thin and strong as. I spooled a heavier set up last night with 50lb braid, feels a bit plasticky and rigid off the spool but sure it'll limber up after a few chucks

Re: Cheeky Suburban Reddie

Before I moved over here I used to fish the canals in London for pike and perch/reddies, I used to look out for the many trolleys in there as there usually was something in or nearby the feature that I could tempt with a lure! Unfortunately it turned out one time there was some poor bugger who appar...

Re: Fishing Buddy

Follow the Find a Decky page on facebook bro. Just an observation mate, you're very unlikely to get on a boat if you ask like this, 95% of the time you'll have to wait for someone to offer. And be prepared to pay your way, be early and work hard (including helping washing the boat!) to earn your nex...

Re: Anaconda. Watch the prices at the checkout.

I went into one yesterday and had to remind/explain to the cashier that Zman lures are 3 packs for $22. Had to go and get the sign for him and everything! I probably wouldn't have spotted it (as bought a whole heap of other lures) if I didn't see this post the other day.

It's a tank! It's overkill 90% of the time so I don't take it out too often, but I will hopefully snag a kingy on it one day and get a solid fight to test it out properly

Re: Effects underspooling a reel has on casting distance + report

Agree with the above, just switch to small circle hooks! The more line there is on a spool (provided it isn't overflowing/up to and over the lip of the spool - this will end up in birdsnests, wind knots and wasted time) the less resistance there is on the lip of the lip when you cast. Imagine if you...

Re: Baitcaster use in salt water.

I use a Okuma Komodo SS if I take a BC set up out for flicking lures in salt when going for jewies, snapper etc (....not too successfully). It's salt resistant and a solid piece of kit, heavily recommended

Re: Two years apart, what's the odds of it happening again!!!

I have a good you'll never believe it but... story too. Years back fishing for wels catfish in England, I made a perfectly presented rig that I just knew was a slayer. I cast out to some fishy looking overhanging trees across the lake but overshot it and got stuck in the tree (of course). A few re-b...

Re: What does 'Murray Cod' mean to you?

"Frustration", I saw a baby one (around 30cm long) that could have saved a blank in Warradyte yesterday, just chilling right on the surface taking in some sun. I got 5 different lures right past it's face and it wasn't having any of them and eventually swam off, so yeah "frustration"! Hi Expomnowco...
