Re: Hi Fellas and after some boat advice.

Never got a response unfortunately. I had a look at some boats up in QLD and went out on a boat. Seems like the market is much bigger in QLD and the boats are a bit cheaper. I went out on a Stessl 485 Apache side console which has shown me that I definitely want something in that size. It felt huge ...

Re: Hi Fellas and after some boat advice.

I’ve sent him a message, I’m up in QLD at the moment but I’ll send a friend to suss it out if it’s still available. Hopefully it’s not too good to be true.

Re: Hi Fellas and after some boat advice.

Saw that but it's already been sold. Not surprising given the price. Everything else I've seen like that is at least double the price. Hopefully there's nothing wrong with it for the buyer. I've had a look at some more boats and have been down to the boat ramp a couple of times and spoken with some ...

Re: squidgies bio tough

I mostly use Munroe's Soft Plastics. The paddle tails have great action and a quite durable. The motor oil colour is very effective on snapper and flatties. I would also recommend the Ziptail Worms in Caramel Eclair for chasing big snapper and flatties. They're also reasonably priced and made here i...

Re: Hi Fellas and after some boat advice.

The tiller was a Savage Scorpion 435 and the Side Console was a Stessco Renegade 460. I quite liked the savage boats, seem like good value. The scorpion was nice and is a little longer that most other brands boats in that price bracket. I also liked the Rebel 449 model. It was pretty basic in terms ...

Re: Hi Fellas and after some boat advice.

Had the opportunity to go out in a couple of boats this weekend which was good. First one I went in was a 4.3m tiller steer and the other was a 4.6m side console. I can definitely see what people mean with it being hard to see in the tiller steer when not on the plane. The boat had a 50hp suzuki 4 s...

Re: Hi Fellas and after some boat advice.

Had a look at some boats today, didn't really find much I liked looked at second hand. The ones I did like weren't much cheaper than new in which cased I'd rather spend the extra and get a full warranty. I'm going to keep looking around though as all the places I spoke to said that anything decent i...

Re: S-Factor?

Nice fish, I use S-Factor on most of my lures and squid jigs and find that it makes a big difference.

Re: Hi Fellas and after some boat advice.

Thanks guys, the trailer catch and release definitely looks like a good way to go.

I'm going to go out this weekend and look at some boats now that I have a bit more idea what I'm looking for.

Re: Hi Fellas and after some boat advice.

I buy boats that suits me and not my mates .... Sounds like you will be launching solo most of time.... Yeah definitely, that's why I'm apprehensive of getting something too big. I would like something that is small enough that launching solo isn't an issue but I can still take 2 or 3 people out on...
