Re: Metung Fishing

Yeah, it's pretty sad. Spent last Christmas at Mallacoota and it was just full of jellyfish. Got an invite to spend a weekend at Tamboon in a couple of weeks. It's about a month before the prime time but might be a chance to drink beers, stare into a fire and talk shite. God we need rain! Whoops, so...

Re: Metung Fishing

Yeah, good luck mate. I've fished Metung and the lakes a few times over the last few years and have never done any good. The Yacht Club jetty has been OK for tiny bream if that floats your boat but the whole system is pretty ordinary in my view. Better off heading further east to Marlo (I haven't fi...

Re: Corinella 8/10 report

Well done mate! I was also out off Corinella that evening. Fished around Elizabeth Island for just two salmon. Seemed like there were a lot of salmon around on the sounder. No one else seemed to do any good. Water temp was 16 deg. It just needs to rise a tad and things will fire! Cracker of an eveni...

Re: The Mighty Bream

Biggest problem would be hooking a Silver Trevally the same size as your Bream on that 2lb string!

Re: Stuff that happens while fishing

Geez, nearly too numerous to list. 1. Launched boat before light. Fishing solo so I just tied the boat off to the nearest rock. Drove up,the ramp and wondered what the noise was. Rope had caught around the trailer and I dragged the boat and the rock up the ramp. 2. Stepped onto the jetty at Tamboon ...

Re: Easter Tarago river report

Trout are pretty aggressive fish and small fish are easier to fool. Would be worth trying some celtas or hardbodies such as rapalas. The upper Latrobe river and Toorongo both hold trout. Tarago reservoir has big trout also lures such as Tassie devils or rapalas would work unfortunately I don’t beli...
