Are certain ramps deeper, and does st Leonard usually fish best for whiting during a Running tide ? Finally, does the ramp cope a huge amount of traffic...

I can’t comment about the reel doctor

Guarantee, cover the hole with the ear muffs and you will it get it running...with the tell tale.

Use to drive me batty until I found out the cause.

If you don’t cover it with the muff, it will force air up the power head.

Your Yamaha will have a little hole in front of the black plastic inlets make sure this is Covered otherwise it won’t pump the water through the power head correctly.

My 150 Yamahas has a small little hole approx 5cm in front of the inlet.
